Mortgage Solutions That Bring Things Together

The roots of Gravity Mortgage Solutions go back to a conversation Joe and JB had as coworkers at another company, back in 2019, after a few too many. They passionately examined together the finer points of how someone might successfully run a short term Tesla rental business. That idea never went anywhere, but both walked away with a conviction that they had to find a way to partner in something.

Later that year, the Woodman Team was formed. It was apparent from the outset that the name was inappropriate as it symbolically ignored JB's contribution and importance. However, all of their other names were dumb (Lighting Fast Dinero) or shot down by the compliance department. In 2025 they decided that it was time to take a leap, starting their own business where no one could say their ideas were silly or illegal (mostly joking).

Gravity Mortgage Solutions' core values are best illustrated by a story of the moment Joe knew that he could trust JB with his livelihood. JB was explaining in a group setting, the deep personal significance of a scene from Christopher Nolan's masterpiece "Interstellar". The protagonist Joseph Cooper has to manually dock the lander to the interstellar ark, the Endurance; a process designed, under the best of circumstances, to be done by an advanced, automated computer guidance system. Still worse, the Endurance happens to be spinning out of control, after an explosion in the vacuum of space, and descending out of orbit where it will disintegrate in the atmosphere of an alien planet.

If he does nothing, they will all die and humanity will be doomed to slow starvation and suffocation back on earth. If he acts, there is a small chance they can complete their mission and give humanity a glimmer of hope. When Cooper announces his intentions, the AI robot CASE exclaims "it's not possible!", to which Cooper responds, through determined focus, having already initiated his advance, "No. It's necessary".

As you may have guessed, this is also where the inspiration for the name Gravity Mortgage Solutions. You might think "gravity" means heavy or that which pulls you down or keeps you from reaching higher. Not something you want to be thinking about when dreaming about home ownership or financial freedom. But that's not really what gravity is. Gravity keeps you grounded. Indeed, you'd fly off into space and freeze to death without it. Gravity also transcends time and space, a characteristic that the aforementioned film explicitly points out is shared with love.

And most importantly, gravity brings things together. Which is what we exist to do for our clients and associates.
